Development Scientist

Overview

Position Summary 

An exciting and rewarding opportunity exists for a Lab Technician to join one of the world leaders in antibody production at our ISO 9001 certified Bio-Rad manufacturing facility in Oxford where we specialise in the manufacture of antibodies for the research community.We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward thinking person with an "can do" attitude and experience in any of the following techniques: protein purification, protein conjugation, flow cytometry, ELISA, WB and cell culture.

The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of all these techniques within a manufacturing setting.

Job Responsibilities

• Manufacture and QC test Raw Materials and FG following standard manufacturing procedures and following a defined schedule. Clean and maintain work areas and equipment.
• Maintaining and preparing records, reports and documentation
• Recommending and facilitating basic changes to interdepartmental written procedures
• Performing assigned tasks in 2 or more areas with process ownership in one area.
• Ability to perform basic preventive maintenance on some equipment.
• Ability to maintain accurate inventory of finished products.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• Working knowledge of some manufacturing procedures.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to details and ability to follow instructions-written and verbal.
• Microsoft Office knowledge and ERP software.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and write reports.

Qualifications: BSc in a Biological Sciences related subject
