In this role, you’ll lead and support a team responsible for handling data subject rights requests and privacy related queries, as well as responding to personal data breaches.

The Data Protection Team are responsible for supporting the business to meet its data protection obligations, through the design and implementation of cost effective polices and processes. Working in partnership with the business, we promote a compliance culture, delivering a clear understanding of what is required and helping guide the business to achieve best practice.

Data Protection Team Leader

We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Protection Team Leader to join the team on a full time permanent basis. Working within a growing team, you'll play a key role in supporting data subject rights requests and privacy related queries.

You'll be responsible for leading and providing guidance to a small team so need to be a confident communicator, highly organised and have a clear understanding of Data Protection and Privacy legislation. It's a role that's full of variety and challenges, requiring a talented individual who is able to work within and alongside a busy team.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Supporting and promoting compliance with data privacy legislation and best practice.
- Leads, directs and supervises a small team responsible for data subject rights request and privacy queries.
- Overseas and coordinates responses to personal data breaches and incidents.
- Support the creation and development of appropriate data protection training material.
- Identifying and proposing steps to address compliance gaps or deficiencies ahead of implementing agreed measures.

Your Skills and Qualifications

- Previous experience within the Data Protection / Privacy field is essential
- Previous experience handling data subject rights requests and other privacy related queries.
- Demonstrated experience of successfully managing a small team.
- Data protection legislation and pragmatic handling / responses for data subject rights requests and privacy queries.
- Strong communicator, excellent time management and detail orientated attributes.
- Proactive approach with a desire to deliver results.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Able to work individually and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Ideally (although not essential) Experience of the legal system.
