The Key Responsibilities will include-

Responsible for the day-to-day management, coaching and development of the Compliance Officer (Data).

Tasks include: Conducting regular one to one's and Facilitating 6 month and full year reviews

Responsible for managing day-to-day business operations in line with internal policies and procedures

Ensure relevant targets, KPI's and objectives are met

* To work collaboratively with the relevant business areas to help shape & implement the data strategy by identifying effective initiatives that are aligned to the Society's business goals

* Lead on relevant strategic activity ensuring projects are delivered on time & within budget *

To provide timely, consistent, accurate and clear advice on data protection practices and issues

* To provide guidance and advise on the use of data for marketing, analytics purposes and the development of IT data governance

* Overall responsibility for the review, maintenance and enhancement of our data protection framework, data governance processes and ensuring that privacy by design is embedded in all our change programmes

* To drive data protection awareness across the business

* To provide technical support and challenge to change initiatives

* Implementation of ongoing data protection related tasks, such as data subject rights requests or data privacy impact assessments

* Review of data protection incidents and ensure correct closure and future prevention

* Review and analyse existing processes and practices and help to identify data protection risks and solutions

* To support the Society's risk function in assessing, understanding and reporting data privacy risks

* To support internal privacy and compliance audits, ensuring actions are closed within agreed timescales * Undertake research on regulatory requirements and best practice

* Develop and maintain relevant data protection policies and procedures for the Society

* Provide technical training and regularly communicate with employees to ensure awareness of data protection requirements

* Any other duties required by the Chief Risk & Data Officer

The Succesful candidate will have/be

Experience working in data protection regulation including GDPR implementation

* Experience in supporting operational areas with data protection compliance, including information technology and or digital marketing

* Able to contribute & influence the data strategy to achieve success and drive forward data protection for the society

* Ability to develop & manage internal & external customer relationships

* Possess strong communication skills both written & verbal with excellent presentation skills

* Confident, high energy, self-motivated and a true team player

* Well-organised, with a high attention to detail and ability to prioritise

* Possess a high level of confidentiality

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

* Computer & IT literate, knowledge of Microsoft

Ideally educated to Degree level or equivalent in Data Protection and or GDPR

* Qualified by experience

A Salary of £47,000 + on site parking

The Data Protection Manager will be responsible for supporting and challenging the wider Society on all data protection aspects to ensure compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The role is key for working on a subject matter that will enable the Society to be successful in their ambitious growth and digital programme.
