Cryptography Engineer

Our technology teams in theUK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digitalservices that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bankquickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure,data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leadinginternational bank.

Our multi-disciplined teamsinclude: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers,infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programmemanagers.

Following extensiveinvestment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continuedexpansion throughout 2020 and beyond, we are currently seeking a Cryptography Engineer to join HSBCTechnology.

The Cryptography Engineeris responsible for operating as part of a global team within ITID to define andimplement an industry-leading Cybersecurity Service that supersedes ourconstantly changing information security threats.

Key duties include (but notlimited to):

• Lead and support peers within the ITID (Cryptography) and Cybersecurityfunctions to define and implement an industry leading Cybersecurity Servicethat supersedes our constantly changing information security threats
• Ensure adherence to the three lines of defence organisational modelwith clear lines of responsibility, accountability and segregation of duties
• Contribute to the Sub-function/Region Cybersecurity strategy to securethe bank's technology from the inside out, whilst maintaining, protecting andenhancing HSBC's values, reputation and stakeholder value
• Contribute to the overall definition of responsibilities and accountabilitiesof Cybersecurity within HSBC and build a team which supports the Cybersecurity(Cryptography) model and defined strategy
• Embeds best practice management and supports implementation oftransformational change
• Createremediation workflows, actions should 'as automatedas possible' and fully documented
• Provide a 24 x 7 on call support on a rota basis and will be expectedto work unsociable hours during this period.

What you will bring to the role;

To be successful in thisrole you should have proven experience within the Technology sector withknowledge of the following skills:

• Experienced Operational Cryptography background
• Hardware Security Module expertise with hands on experience includingpayments and general purpose HSMs
• Customer/stakeholder focus. Ability to build strong relationships withInternal/External Key stakeholders, cross functional IT and global/local ITteams
• Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure
• Operational effectiveness - delivers solutions that align to approveddesign patterns and security, risk and regulatory standards
• Good understanding on IT Infrastructure technical platforms /technologies
• A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better andan excellent understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implementchange
• Strong Documentation skills -requirements, process, procedures,reports, plans and analysis

This role will be based inBarsnley (Tankersley, Wentworth)
