Business Unit
A busy and fast paced rail maintenance and asset management project environment. The business unit consists of ‘small’ maintenance projects both reactive and planned around the rail network. They are responsible for the maintenance and repair of rail assets in a long term framework / contract agreement with works typically ranging in type, scale and value.
Projects can typically include repair and maintenance to bridges, tunnels, structures, stations, embankments, flood and weather damage, signage, de-vegetation, fencing, handrails etc.
The Role
As a Commercial Assistant you will form an integral part of our expert commercial team in the Asset Management team for the LNE route. You will work closely with the Quantity Surveyors, Senior Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Management team providing commercial and administrative assistance. Your responsibilities will comprise of providing Commercial support to the Day to Day Asset Management team, producing estimates from a schedule of rates and site reports. Re-measuring actual works delivered and drafting final accounts. Day to day as a Commercial Assistant your duties will comprise of:
Requirements
We are looking for well-organised and pro-active candidates with previous administration experience in a commercial team within the construction industry. To excel in this role, you will hold excellent communication and IT skills (Microsoft Excel) with a keen eye for detail and ambitions to progress with a career in Quantity Surveying.
