In this busy role, you'll be a dynamic leader for a team responsible for paying all of Aldi's 35,000+ colleagues across the UK. 

National Finance & Administration are an integral part of the business ensuring that payments are made efficiently and accurately. Accounts Payable Team Leader

We are recruiting for an Accounts Payable Team Leader to join our newly formed Accounts Payable team, which will be responsible for the processing of all invoices for the business.

As Accounts Payable Team Leader you will be expected to run the Accounts Payable team, achieving compliance with all internal and external guidelines.

You will ensure a high level of accuracy and efficiency at all times, whilst contributing to a co-operative working environment.

The Team Leader has the responsibility to motivate their employees and encourage excellent performance ensuring everyone is performing to the best of their ability.

Role responsibilities:

• Makes decisions regarding the coordination of National Administration Assistant resource on a daily basis
• Supports decision making at a higher level
• Authorises holidays of the National Administration Assistants reporting to them
• Plans and supervises the training of new employees and the ongoing development of those employees reporting to them
• Liaises with internal National, and International departments
• Liaises with internal and external auditors, and external bodies when required
• Informs the National Finance and Administration Manager or Director about sickness and holidays of the National Administration Assistants
• Liaises with the National Finance and Administration Manager or Director on Accounts procedures
• Leads, directs and supervises the work of the team reporting to them
• Ensures cascade of relevant information to their team
• Holds National Administration Assistant performance reviews

Skills and attributes:

• Experience as a Purchase Ledger Team Leader or Manager is essential
• Experience of managing a team
• Experience in processing high volumes of invoices
• High attention to detail
• Strong work ethic
• Driven
• Able to work under pressure, multi task and prioritise workload
• Well organised
• Works in a structured, methodical manner
• Takes personal responsibility for resolving queries and issues within their team
• Uses initiative
• Proficient in the use of all office packages
• Clear communicator
• Team player
• Accounts qualification is preferred, although not essential
• SAP experience is preferred, although not essential
