Using a cv template, cover letter example and tips on interview questions can be helpful in your jobsearch – but what if you're still not getting the job, despite your great applications?

According to Heather R. Huhman a career expert and founder and president of Come Recommended, there are a number of ways you can make changes to your job hunt in order to make it more productive, US News.com reports.

Firstly, make sure your online presence is up-to-scratch – don't forget that employers may check out your history before inviting you for an interview, so set up a professional website, Twitter or Google profile to promote yourself professionally.

Make sure you're applying for jobs where you meet the minimum qualifications, as applying for jobs you're not qualified for is a waste of time, Ms Huhman says.

Don't get down-beat, keep your motivation up by taking up a new hobby, and making the most of the career advice out there.

Finally, Ms Huhman says, be specific in your job hunt, so you can build your personal brand to fit the needs of an organisation you'd really like to be part of.
