Brits would prefer Keith Lemon or Simon Cowell as a workplace mentor to Theresa May

20th January 2016: Despite Theresa May arguably having one of the most important jobs in the country, Brits have revealed they’d rather be mentored by the likes of Keith Lemon (4%) or Simon Cowell (6%).

According to the new poll by Monster.co.uk, UK employees voted Richard Branson (23%), David Attenborough (22%) and JK Rowling (15%) as their preferred mentors in the workplace.

Andy Sumner, Managing Director for Monster UK & Ireland, commented;

“A mentor doesn’t necessarily have to be a big personality such as Keith Lemon or Simon Cowell, but someone that inspires and motivates people to reach their personal and professional goals. Mentors help employees steer their career around obstacles, guide and inspire them to ensure they reach their full potential. Having a mentorship programme in place is also key to staff retention and building a better, happier workforce and ultimately, encouraging everyone to find better.”
